Super clean E36 M3 For sale
Description
Second owner of this clean E36 M3. I have owned the vehicle for the last 15 years and maintained it meticulously. Full maintenance records with receipts since I own the vehicle available. Most of the work has been done by me, except few occasions when it was done at German Motor Specialist in Mountain View, CA. The car has been initially special ordered and has all extras except heated seats. Everything on the car has been kept in perfect working order and works as intended. Thorough vehicle maintenance log is shared here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1UvWgO5oR_wSGdcxz4p3n1i-BDjndTAjG/view?usp=sharing and/or is available via email upon request. The car is super clean and bone stock except I have sold the original M contour (Style 23) staggered width wheels and have installed 4 identical APEX ARC-8 wheels 17”x 8.5” with 245/40ZR17 tires on them. Also, the headlights have been replaced with Euro spec Hella/ZKW CRS headlight assemblies with glass lenses and H7 bulbs – significant improvement over OEM lights. There are also yellow fog lights installed. All headlights have thick Xpel protective film on them. The driver side rearview mirror is European spec aspheric mirror (The original flat one is included as well). Also installed are High Performance EMP Stewart Components water pump and aluminum thermostat housing. The car has lived all her life in the SF Bay Area, never seen snow/salt on the road. No rust anywhere. I hit a curb with the right front wheel once (still with the original wheel on it), and had the strut towers checked at B-Line shop. The car has had two small accidents – front left fender and driver's door were scraped by a minivan as parked on the street, resulting in driver door and front fender replacement, and front left fender was brushed by another driver merging lanes – the fender was repaired and repainted. Both were fixed at the B-Line Body shop in San Jose, CA.
The car comes with bunch of spare parts, as follows:
- Catalytic converters 18-30-1-744-162 (From headers to back pipe) – the original one, from the same car. Still have some life left in it.
- New voltage regulator with brushes (Valeo).
- New Bosch ignition coil (As a spare).
- New water pump Geba (Germany, pressed metal impeller, best quality in my experience).
- Set of Victor Reinz gaskets and seals for the bottom end of the engine (including front and rear crankshaft seals) except the oil filter housing seal from this set, which I installed couple months ago.
- Mann air filter + 2X Mahle oil filters.
- The original flat driver side mirror.
- The original headlight assemblies.
Also available is whole manual passenger Vader seat, with frame, mechanisms and cushions in good shape, upholstery not so much. No need to take it of course, but is offered with the vehicle, if interested.
What is not perfect on the car:
- Engine consumes oil – more or less that is how I bought the car. The oil consumption increased slightly for the last 15 years since I purchased the vehicle and is around the BMW M spec of 1 quart for 800 miles (Or so). Replacing the valve stem seals should help decrease it.
- There are two small chips on the windshield, which I have not repaired yet. They are not in the field of view, best is replacing the windshield under insurance claim.
- The driveshaft rear universal joint is showing small play in the needle bearings.
- The engine oil pan gasket is seeping a bit of oil.
- Rear trunk spoiler finish is showing some clear coat surface cracks.
- Rear tires would need replacement soon.
