It’s hard for me to believe that it’s been eighteen years since my series of columns entitled “Conditioning The Coupe (Part XX of 700)” ran in Roundel. In those columns, I described the from-scratch retrofit of air-conditioning into my 1973 3.0CSi.

The year was 2010, one month to the day before my wedding. I had planned a much-needed reprieve from wedding-planning duties to attend a Northern Colorado BMW night with a small group of fellow Z3 M coupe and M roadster owners. Joining our group was a transplant from Seattle named Fletch, who had just acquired a pristine 2001 Estoril Blue M roadster.
