Driving tour to Cade, Louisiana

June 14, 2014
Chapter:
This drive is back by popular demand. This time we will tour two period homes in Cade, LA, one of which is a restored bousillage construction (mud and moss between timbers) of an early Acadian style. The second home-site features several buildings: a church, two homes and the original Cade railroad "station" - a building the locals call the "ba-SHOOM" because when you dance in it, the floor goes "ba-SHOOM". We will finish our tour at the Springer's where you will relax and may wish to make plans for the rest of your day/weekend enjoying the food, music and hospitality of the Acadians of St. Martinville, New Iberia or Lafayette. Laissez les bons temps rouler!
