BMW Motorrad broke company records for motorcycle and scooter sales in 2012, paced by Husqvarna, which had a huge 15.7% gain. Overall, BMW motorcycle and scooter sales rose 2%.
Total Husqvarna sales rose from 9,286 units to 10,751. The most popular models were in the 250cc to 310cc range, many of those sold primarily for off-road use. Sales were also strong for the company's on-road Nuda 900 and Nuda 900R, and for the newly introduced dual-purpose TR650 Terra and TR650 Strada.
"It's been a very positive year for U.S. sales," said Corey Eastman, national marketing manager for Husqvarna Motorcycles North America,crediting the TR650 models as expanding the marque's appeal.––Paul DucheneBack to News
