zhp camshaft concerns

    I was reading "Bimmer" magazine this month @ their concerns w/ the ZHP pkg, particularly when it comes to the chatter @ 2000 to 3000 rpm from the camshaft. Does anyone own a 2004 w/ ZHP option pkg. (manual shift) who has successfully dealt w/ this problem? I'm thinking @ buying one, since I now have a 325e (1985 vintage).

    check the e46 Roadfly boards. LOTS of discussion there...

    Before you buy one, dig deep into this topic. It has been a real headache for some ZHP owners.

    2003, owned since new, no problems with camshafts. Have approximately 56,000 miles on it now.

    Just rebuilt my son's 330ci zhp. Had 86k miles and was radling. Replaced 'o' rings, run like a champ now. It doesnt apear to be a problem like the cam bolts on the s54 m3 engine.
