Worth of BMW 1600 GT?

    A co-worker's brother-in-law has a 1967 1600 GT that he brought back from Germany in 1978. Needs restoration, no known missing pieces, but runs.
    Car is outside of Chicago.
    Any ideas as to what it's worth?

    Well I have not idea but I just bought a Glas GT that was turned into a clone of a 1600 GT and it cost me $5k I suspect the genuine article is probably worth at least double that if not more Check with the guys at the Werkshop, they should be able to give you a clue

    Thx for the response - the car is well beyond my restoration capabilities and budget (even if the car was free), but I would like to find a buyer for the current owner.
    Will follow up with the The WerkShop.
