i have a 2003 e39 and the rear floor wells are getting wet when the car sits outside in heavy rain, all drain holes are clear, and I can see water coming in over door sill .has anyone ordered a vapor barrier kit? What is required and any ideas where to order it from, thx RAA
Here's a link for you where louv repaired it on his M5. Here's a link to a thread on the M5board about leaking rear door vapor barriers.
I use 3m strip caulk available at NAPA. I recomment thoroughly cleaning both surfaces and making sure that the caulk goes up to and even over the edges of the metal openings so that water cannot easily pool between the door and the vapor barrier.
Door panel removal... Here is a link to a DIY to assist with the door panel removal: http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum....php?t=1261718 Hope this helps...
FYI, dead links for vapor barrier The above referenced links are dead. At least for me. I am using Firefox and that could be the problem. I will try with IE.
Door seals I have recently bought a 2003 530i and am experiencing the water leaks. What does a dealer charge for this repair and would it be covered by extended warranty services.? Thanks
