    I need to replace my cup holders in back seat of 1997 528I. Any hints on removal and replacement

    Don't bother.

    Well trimmed black electrical tape.... seriously. Mothers and nephews love to open and shut the cup holder and end up breaking them, so your replacement will not last long. I replaced the front holder with a european spec trim peice which looks great.

    The rear cup holder just snaps in. Open it, give it a tug and it will come out.
