Doesn't places like Advance Auto scan codes for free?
Advance Auto, AutoZone, probably every other parts house around, too. That's what I did when my local Chrysler dealership wouldn't check the codes on my Jeep for less than $60. I have a gas cap with a slight seal leak, diagnosed as such, which the dealership will want to sell me.
