90 code reading??

Hi everyone,
new to the forum and bmw ownership I have a check engine light coming on sometimes usaually 2300 rpm to 3 push in clutch it goes away or let off gas same thing any ideas just changed oil used K&N filter and synth blend oil then it started happening

Hi people
my car is a 90 525 i 6 cyc. 10w 40 synth blend I am wondering if there is a way to check the code in the car (like on late 80s early 90s dodges you turn the key on and off 4 times and the dash flash the code at you) sorry for the lack of info. thanks again for all your help

I think it's called the Stomp Test. You turn the ignition on (don't start the car) and stomp the throttle 5 times in quick succession. Read this page for more info:
