2009 335i Coupe Hood Insulatio

    Just picked up my 2009 Ti Silver 335i coupe yesterday. I noticed that there is no hood insulation pad. Did they stop putting them on or should I head back to the dealer?

    Yes, they stopped after 2007 I believe. I have an 07 with it but I know newer years do not. There was a bulletin to dealers about this when questions arise.

    Where is my insulation?

    With the combination of direct injection, composite or aluminum hood panel materials, composite engine covers, and generally quieter BMW engines there was just no need any longer.

    Just noticed my 128i 2/09 build does not have the hood insulation. I wonder if not having this insulation would effect the longenvity of the paint on the hood?
