2006 X 3 Alarm question

    I am in the process of buying a cpo and was wondering if the clown nose light blinks if the vehicle is locked does it mean it is equiped with an alarm. Reason was when I bought my e-46 in 2002 they said that in the bmw programming you could enable the clown nose blink without it having an alarm installed.

    Hi,

    First of all, best wishes on the purchase of your new X-3.

    The clown nose can be programmed to blink when doors are locked with out an alarm system installed in the vehicle. I know this first hand as I requested the dealer to activate the feature when I purchased my X-3 new.

    My X3 does this without any alarm (yet).

    My X3 does this when the doors are locked. This behavior has continued now that the Alarm installed. Either way i think its a programmed feature:)

    Good luck with your X3....I can't get enough of mine :p
