E21 Baur Project

The car has very little rust. The body is relatively straight, the frame is completely straight and does not appear to have been in any major accidents.  The interior has been stripped of it's Recaros and now has vinyl E21 comfort seats. The glass is in good condition, it has the targa top and trunk mounting brackets. The car has a clean California title.  The car hasn't been registered since 1998.  Someone started an engine swap, but failed to complete it.  In the engine bay a M20B27 (Eta) motor is bolted in, but not wired up.  The motor is in unknown condition, other than it's complete.  There is a M20 transmission from an E30 attached.  Luckly, I have a known good, documented mileage M20B23 (from a hartop E21 323i) as well as a 4spd manual (also from the same E21 323i).   This brings this Baur back to what is coded in the VIN. I have service and ownership records dating back to the early 90's as well as a untabbed, unused California plate from when it was last registered. The car has been plucked of some of it's rarer bits over the years.  Fortunately I have a fair amount of parts to replace what's missing.
