Includes brackets and bushings. Came from my former car (2000 528i) This is the thicker, stiffer M Sport Package sway bar for E39. It fits 525i, 528i, 530i and 540i (both I-6 and V-8 models, but NOT the Touring (wagon) models which AFAIK have a different rear suspension. If your car does not have the M Sport Package, this is an easily installed upgrade that will give you some of the tighter handling of the M Sport Package cars. It will reduce body roll and tighten up the car's response with minimal effect on ride harshness. Changing the rear sway bar only will also reduce understeer. If your car came with a 4-spoke steering wheel and chrome around the side windows, you don't have the Sport Package. Stock non-sport rear sway bar is 13mm diameter. M Sport sway bars are mandatory if you have lowered your E39 with shorter springs, or if you are running big rims / low profile tires (17" or bigger rims, 45 section or lower tires). NOTE: All 540i with 6 speed manual transmission have the sport package, as do all 2003 M Sport 540i's. On all other E39's it's optional. This is one of the cheapest and easiest to install suspension upgrades you can do to a non Sport Package E39.
